Union Station (Original)
The second Union Station in Providence, RI is mostly still standing. (The first, where Abraham Lincoln once gave a speech, is no more.) It is a group of tan-brick buildings referred to as Union Plaza. Built in the 1890s, this station was made up of five buildings. The largest was the central terminal. The western-most building was the railroad office. This building today
The Courtyard Marriot, just north of the ex-Railroad Office, was not a part of Union Plaza, but rather built in similar style to match. There used to be tracks that ran where the building now stands, running east-west.

Rail Explorers
In Portsmouth, RI, there is an old line of track from the Old Colony & Newport Railroad (tracks c. 1860s). The line sees both the The Grand Bellevue Rail Dinning Experience and Rail Explorers programs. I've done Rail Ex twice, both times on the "Southern Circuit", which is between Portsmouth Grove Station and Bayside Station. The experience was amazing, but a lot of hard work. Rail bikes are a challenge, but with a few friends it's a great time.
The last photo (of the rail bike) was not taken at a Rail Explorers experience. I never got a good photo of just the bikes during them. So, instead, I took this at the 2024 Big E where Rail Ex was advertising outside the Rhode Island building. This version is a two-seater. There are also 4-seaters.
